Just like regular clothes lingerie have to washed, dried and stored too. For these undergarments to last longer here are a few washing and storing tips that will surely help you.
1. Hand wash. Throwing your lingerie into the washing machine is really not a good idea. Remember that along with your bras and panties are other set of clothing which can cause irreversible damage to your precious underwear. Another thing is that the materials used to make this lingerie are not as strong as the materials used for your shirts and jeans. Machine washing your underwear will surely destroy fragile materials such as lace and silk and in addition to that it will also deform the cups of your brassiere.
2. Do not iron. The heat of the iron will surely melt materials such as silk, satin or lace. Ironing can also cause the garters to loosen which can result to ill-fitting underwear.
3. Hang to dry. Do not use the dryer. Just like machine washing the force of the dryer might damage your silk, satin or lace underwear and not only that it can also loosen some stitches which can result to the separation of joined ends.
4. When washing, avoid using strong detergents or bleach. Using such will surely destroy the beauty of your lingerie by fading its colours and worse weakening the fibers.
5. Avoid dumping your brassieres into the closet or drawer. The proper way to store your bras is by spreading it with cups properly formed. If you have multiple bras you can store it by putting one over the other making sure the cups are aligned and round. Dumping your bras can result to deformed cups which is rather unsightly.
6. Completely dry your undergarments before storing them. Storing moist undergarment will weaken its materials and at the same time cause it to smell.
Undergarments can be considered as a woman's best friend. She never leaves home without putting one on. Taking proper care when washing and storing your undergarments will surely lengthen its lifespan.
