Who wears apparel? Some pets wear them. Some dolls do too. However, apparel is a must for all humans. Along with food and shelter, apparel is in fact one of the most fundamental necessities for your survival. Without one, you will not only be able to brave through the ravages of the weather and temperature changes, but you will also not be able to look as good as you want to be. Regardless of what your age is, you are bound to cover your body with apparel even if you don't think so much about it. The following are some distinct classifications of the wearers of apparel. The same distinctions are used by most apparel companies in determining the size of the clothing pieces they sell in the market. • ADULTS. Adulthood technically begins at the age when your body stops growing under normal conditions. Your body has reached its maximum potential and the only changes that can play with it are such things as weight loss or weight gain. Adult clothes are tailored to fit and enhance the mature body's height and curves, and the overall effect is actually sexy, modest or professional. This difference is particularly noticeable when adults wear doll dresses but end up looking seductive instead of childlike. • TEENS. Teenage years account for the puberty period or adolescence. Your body is gradually undergoing changes towards maturity. Boys may experience a growth spurt. Girls may start losing their baby fats and begin developing breasts. Although some teen wear sport sizes that are close to adult sizes, the main difference lies in the style of the apparel. Most teen wear are designed to be hip and trendy, instead of mature and professional, although many pieces are intended as a preparation for adult wear. • PRE-TEENS. Pre-teen years are those years when you're too young to be considered a teen and no longer that cute to be considered a toddler. They are usually inclusive of elementary school years. The apparel pieces are lengthier versions of the toddler wear, but the styles are still predominantly “kiddie” and innocent: jumpers, suspenders and trendy for-girls shirts that have no provisos for busts. Pre-teen wear are somewhat temporary in nature because the wearers undergo drastic body changes. • TODDLERS. Toddler years are perhaps the cutest years of your life. You can be called cute without trying so hard and without needing the aid of apparel with specific cuts. No matter how durable the fabrics are, the pieces are again very temporary as your body undergoes size, height and fullness changes in a matter of months. Most toddler wear come with size tags 3, 4, 5, 6 and so forth. The numbers indicate the age of the wearer. • INFANTS. Infancy is the stage of being a human doll. You have little say on what you wear because your doting mommy dresses you up like a doll. With the exception of baptismal gowns, apparel for infants comes in basic and simple cuts. The cloth, however, must be soft enough to avoid causing rashes on baby-soft and delicate skin. |
